Is $11,587 to full HVAC replacement a fair price?
This price is fairly priced
This looks like a fair price for a full HVAC replacement in Ontario, especially with the electrical, permit, lineset, and duct work included. The rebate helps, but the pre-rebate total is still in the normal market range for a complete dual-fuel style install.
Scope, materials, and schedule can all shift what counts as fair—even when totals look far apart.

What's on this quote
What this quote is for
full HVAC replacement
Scope / description
- Got quoted ~$16k CAD all-in (including HST, before rebates) in Ontario, Canada for a full HVAC replacement. Equipment is a Rheem R962V070 two-stage variable-speed furnace, Midea DLCURAH30ABK 2.5 ton cold-climate heat pump, EcoNet communicating thermostat, and GeneralAire GF1625 5" media filter cabinet. Includes electrical, new lineset, surge protector, snow stand, duct modifications, permits, etc.
- Heat pump qualifies for ~$1250 rebate bringing effective cost closer to ~$14.8k. Warranty is 12 year compressor/parts on the heat pump, 10 year parts on the furnace, 1 year labor.
- Installer seems knowledgeable and says the Midea units are OEM equipment used by a lot of larger brands. Mainly wondering:
- Does pricing seem reasonable for Ottawa/Ontario in 2026?
- Any concerns with Rheem furnaces or Midea heat pumps?
- Is the 5" media filter upgrade worth it?
- Price: $11,587
