Is $2,500 to retile one small bathroom a fair price?

Project Details

My bathroom tiles are a bit ugly. It's not my forever home; I'll probably stay here for another 5 years. I'm wondering if it's possible and safe to tile over the existing tiles instead of removing them completely, or if painted tiles are a good alternative.

Remodel two bathrooms (labor only)

This quote is for the labor associated with remodeling two bathrooms. The homeowner purchased all materials separately. Initially, issues arose with visible grid lines on the penny tile floor and misaligned penny tile on the walls. The contractor initially stated that grid lines are always visible, suggested using white grout, and claimed the chosen penny tile was not intended for floors. Following homeowner feedback and concerns, the contractor committed to rectifying the issues. The scope of work now includes: - Ripping out and replacing the penny tile floor. - Re-grouting the bathroom walls. - Re-setting some wall tiles as needed. - Specific design pattern for penny tile (flower design) was discussed. - Grout color was switched from charcoal to platinum to improve contrast.
