Is $3,270 to apply Thompson sealant to a brand new deck a fair price?

I'm a first-time homeowner with my husband deployed. We had to use insurance to build a new deck, but I was told I have to pay out of pocket for either Thompson sealant or paint. I'm trying my best to make good decisions. I think the deck wood is pine, and the piece against the stucco is treated wood.
