Is $3,000 to install pavers on our back patio a fair price?

Project Details

We hired a contractor to install pavers on our back patio. We have paid $600 towards the $3,000 quote, and he is about 60-70% done with the job. He was supposed to finish today but was involved in a car accident last night and was taken to jail. We are waiting to see if he can finish, but if not, we will need to find someone else. I feel he deserves compensation for the work he did, but this situation has put us in a predicament. His quote was quite a bit lower than any other quotes we received.
