Is $1,400 to repair a 4x4 subfloor spot a fair price?

I recently purchased my first home in July of last year. It's a 50-year-old house, and I've been doing small projects. I noticed a soft spot in one bedroom under the carpet, which I assume is the subfloor. I'm too busy to do this repair myself and decided to get a quote. I'm wondering if $1400 is an insane price for a 4x4 spot repair.
