Is $1,499 to install a Remington Solar Attic Fan a fair price?
Project Details
I am looking to increase the amount of insulation in my attic. I live in a house built in the 60's and it has a vent on each side of the attic and also two vents on the roof for the attic. I am also considering a QuietCool Smart App Controlled Attic Gable Fan instead, which I could install myself without needing another hole in my roof. I already have a gable vent on both sides of my house, so I would just install this behind one of them. I could also integrate it with my existing Home Assistant system. From my understanding, the solar fan does not have a battery; it runs when the sun is out but not if the sun is not out. Cutting into my roof to install the solar fan is really intimidating. I am wondering if something like this is even necessary. I've seen some stuff online recommending against these fans saying they draw moisture in and cause more issues.
