replace a furnace blower motor (parts only)

Is $3,600 to replace a furnace blower motor (parts only) a fair price?

Project Details

I am a first-time homeowner with a newborn, and my house is currently very hot because of a broken furnace blower motor. My wife, baby, and I are staying at my in-laws to escape the heat, and I'm feeling desperate. I've received two quotes for a replacement blower motor: one for $3600 for parts alone, and another for $2600. I feel these amounts are astronomical, especially since I found a replacement part online for under $200 (Fasco D701 Motor) and another (GE Genteq Blower Motor ECM 2.3 1/2 HP) that claims to be plug-and-play. I suspect the technicians are trying to push me into buying a whole new furnace. I'm currently trying to confirm the exact model of my existing ECM motor, and I realize I probably need a ratchet wrench to take it out.
