Is $400 to replace furnace ignition coil a fair price?
Project Details
I bought my first house in Nov 2023, and the 4-year-old furnace has been having persistent issues with an orange light flashing rapidly. I've had multiple service calls and repairs. In Feb 2024, I replaced the ignition coil for $400. In Nov 2024, I made a deal to pay $11,000 for a heat pump installation, furnace tear down and clean, new intake, and furnace warranty, with the work completed in Jan 2025. I also replaced the blower wheel in spring 2025. Despite all these efforts and expenses, including a technician plugging internal holes, the orange light continues to flash, and I'm very frustrated and unsure what the underlying problem is or how long I will have to deal with this.
