My 8-year-old Goodman AC unit (originally thought to be Coleman) needs a new compressor and dual capacitor. I was quoted $3,825 for this repair. The dual capacitor was already replaced in 2023. The unit's issues include the breaker tripping, condenser fans not spinning, no noise from the unit, and no cool air inside. Previously, it made loud noises intermittently when starting. I'm seeking advice on whether to replace these parts or replace the entire unit, for which I received an initial estimate of around $10,000. I'm also considering getting a second opinion and checking warranties.
