Is $5,000 to install a whole-house dehumidifier a fair price?
Project Details
I'm having a hard time with humidity in my house, with levels reaching 60% to 70% during the summer. I recently had a full crawlspace encapsulation with a dehumidifier and a new Carrier single-stage AC installed. My current crawlspace dehumidifier (an Aprilaire e70) has only been running for about 10 days, and the AC is running 7.7 hours a day, but the humidity persists. I've ordered a portable dehumidifier to see if that helps and plan to check the attic.
