Is $1,500 to replace the blower motor a fair price?

Project Details

I initially thought the blower motor was dead because I couldn't command it to turn on via the thermostat. A technician replaced a switch and capacitor on the condenser and added 1lb of freon based on temperature differences. Two days later, I experienced the same issues, including the condenser freezing and no cold air. The technician came back and said the blower doesn't seem to be working. I'm wondering if the motor could be flaky or if I should consider getting a new unit or a retrofit. My unit is a Lennox SL280UHV10036V with a 4-ton condenser (part # CH23-51 on the evaporator).
