Is $2,000 to remove water damaged drywall and insulation a fair price?

Project Details

I experienced a small dripping leak from my ceiling during rain. This requires cutting out a 4x4 area of drywall in the ceiling and a 4x8 area of the wall, along with insulation. A contractor mentioned the wall is S/E facing and gets a lot of sun, so it might be pretty dry. I am considering doing the removal myself.
