Is $2,000 to repair a 4x6 section of drywall a fair price?
Project Details
My dad had a water leak, and we removed a 4x6 section of drywall for plumbing access. We have no prior drywall experience and are receiving quotes over $2000. The work is for his apartment's laundry room, and we're not aiming for a perfect finish, but we are concerned about accurately cutting holes for the dryer vent and washer hose bibs. As basic but motivated DIYers, I'm wondering if this project is beyond our skill level. I'm considering using two pieces of drywall and taking my time, possibly making one piece up to the 220 outlet and another for the hose bibs.
