Is $7,000 to do a concrete driveway a fair price?
Project Details
I had an addition completed last year, which included a new garage and driveway. The driveway was not part of the original contract, and the contractor quoted $10.5k, which I felt was excessive. My neighbor, who works in concrete/foundation, offered to do the driveway for about $7k. He and his team completed the work last October. I've repeatedly asked him for the final cost, but he hasn't provided it. I know he covered the cost of concrete and labor for his guys. I ended up writing a check for $8k and told him to let me know if the actual cost was more, or to consider any difference a down payment for future help.
