Is $500 to make two rectangular cushions for a breakfast nook a fair price?

I built an "L" shaped breakfast nook and am looking for two rectangular cushions to put on top for seating. I want to work with a smaller local shop to give them my business and so I can actually see the materials before placing the order. I can find it for a fraction of the cost online (i.e. Rofielty), but I am concerned that I can't see or feel the materials before ordering and since it's custom, there are no returns. I am looking for advice on local or nationwide retailers or how others got comfortable buying online.
