Is $1,200 to finish drywall in a 12x12 basement room a fair price?

I have a 12x12 room in my basement that I framed out and hung the drywall. I started to tape and mud but quickly realized it was not looking great. So I'm reaching out to drywallers to get the job finished. I got six quotes that range from $700 to $900 from what I can only assume are handyman quotes based off of companies with no reviews or hard to find. I got a quote of 1200 from reputable local company and I'm curious if I should go with that? Or does 1200 seem too high for a 12x12 room to finish?
