Is $1,700 to sand lead paint in a closet and pantry a fair price?
Project Details
We bought an old home and have a 7-month-old daughter. We realized a closet and pantry have lead paint, and the closet will be hers. The closet is large and connects two rooms. I was quoted $1700 for the work, which seems cheap. Looking it up, the proposed method of sanding down the lead paint does not seem like standard practice, and I'm actually kind of terrified of the paint being sanded. I'm seeing something called lead defender that neutralizes lead before removing, but they did not mention anything like that. I just don’t understand why this would be the approach.
