Is $750 to repair a water-damaged ceiling with orange peel texture a fair price?
Project Details
I'm curious if I should keep shopping around or pull the trigger, or if I should DIY. I'm an amateur and have never done ceilings, and I worry that I cannot match the orange peel texture. I'm also pressed for time and historically hate drywall dust with a passion. I imagined the cost would be around $500-600, but the quotes were a bit higher than anticipated. I have a little one and would rather spend time with my family than two days fiddling with drywall. I've hung new walls for a garage and done general patch work, but not a ceiling or orange peel of this size. The ceiling was water damaged, and things were clumping off. I'm going to hire it out because I know I'll get frustrated with mud on myself or the floor. I need to know what questions to ask the installers before picking one.
