Is $4,200 to install a pool automation system a fair price?
Project Details
We're about to start a pool build (dig date December this year) and I'm a little flabbergasted at the price they gave us for the contractor to install a pool automation system ($4200). My husband is a VERY handy mechanical engineer who believes it would be no problem to install an automation system himself after the pool is completed. I'm asking if this is feasible and what we should consider. We are not talking about building our own system, but installing an existing unit. My husband does have experience with those things. I'm also wondering if we would need to install the conduit ourselves or just leverage the conduit installed already by the pool contractor.
