Is $300 to vacuum fine particles from pool to waste a fair price?
Project Details
I have a cartridge filter pool and have never heard of being charged $300 to vacuum to waste for fine particles. I have had a pool before and did it myself, but it was a sand filter with a valve at the top and a hose, which this one does not have. I can vacuum with manual attachments, but I'm not sure how to get the particles 'out' so they do not filter back through the system. The pool people said it would go right back through the filter. I'm hoping someone can give me a clue on how to do this myself.

Drain and clean a pool
This service involves draining and cleaning the pool. The company indicated it was the only way to remove suspected plaster particles, algae, leaves, and other debris. However, they advised me to perform the service myself, as the pool's plaster is 20-30 years old and coming off, and they didn't want to charge me for something I could do myself.
