Is $2,200 to install a standard metal chase cover a fair price?
Project Details
I just got our wood burning fireplace/chimney cleaned and inspected. The inspector told me I needed a new chase cover because this one was dented. We've lived here for 7 years and the previous owners did not use the fireplace, so chances are they didn't do any work on the chimney either. We are probably going to move in the next 5-10 years. I'm questioning if we need a new cover, and if these prices are fair, as they seem steep based on some other research, but I'm also seeing some around the same price. The cover also seems fine to me. I realize the pictures are not the best but they are what are on the inspection report.
