Is $38,000 to tear off and replace roof with stone-coated steel or shingles a fair price?

Project Details

The presentation lasted almost 3 hours despite requests to skip it. I previously tried to DIY a part of the roof which was a roof-over. I am concerned about the salesperson's claim that using thicker boards for spot repairs would not cause an uneven surface.
