Is $1,700 to repair a roof leak around the chimney a fair price?
Project Details
I have a leak around the corners of the chimney that is getting inside the attic and does have some wood rot. The roofers are suggesting that the step flashing is what is causing issue of water getting inside of the attic. I'm getting quotes from around $1700-$2000 to repair this area with new shingles, wood and step flashing and wanted to confirm that is the case and if the price sounds about right. One roofer did say that the water could be coming in through the corner boards of the siding, however it looks like most of the corner boards in the neighborhood are done the same way and I don’t believe that is the case but any advice would be greatly appreciated.
