I received an initial quote of $16,000 for a new roof on my 2700 square foot house. The roofer explained the higher cost was due to my existing roof having two layers, which increases disposal expenses. I had previously received a quote from a GAF installer for $12,500. After mentioning this, the Owens Corning installer dropped his price to $14,000, stating it was his lowest possible price. I am trying to determine if $14,000 is a fair price for the described work, especially considering the quality of Owens Corning shingles.
