Is $20,000 to replace 25 square roof including plywood a fair price?
Project Details
I had a guy fix a spot of missing shingles that blew off this winter and asked for a quote for a full replacement. I've never had to deal with roof issues before. The current roof was installed incorrectly 10 years ago, leading to issues like missing nails, high nailing, torn shingles, and water damage. The wood underneath is spongy and needs replacing because it's been soaking up water. The house was built in 1886 and the roof is a basic, symmetrical design.
