Is $15,000 to replace roof a fair price?

Project Details

I know nothing about roofing and need to get my roof repaired, but my insurance won't cover any of it. I need help to make sure I'm not getting taken advantage of. I had a recommendation for a roofing company that helps file claims after a hail storm. After the company guy and the insurance claims agent came out, they initially told me there was identifiable damage on one side that would be covered. However, after the claims agent's manager reviewed the images, they determined the damage was not hail damage but blistering, and now they will only cover fascia and gutter replacement. My insurance had estimated the cost of the roof repair to be $30,000, which seemed steep for my house, but it is a ranch with an attached 2-car garage, which might increase the cost. I am trying to do research, but with inflation, even rough estimates from a few years ago seem half of what I'm quoted. I guess I will have to reach out for additional quotes, and the salesman said they would match any quotes. I am shopping for a new insurance company because my past experiences with them have been terrible, even for auto claims where I was not at fault. I hope to save some money if they aren't going to do anything for me anyway. I'll have to dig deeper into what is going on with insurance once I have more information.
