Is $55,000 to remove existing siding and install CertainTeed Monogram vinyl siding a fair price?
Project Details
My house is a 1960s bungalow on a heavily wooded lot in NJ. The current siding is vertical wood planks (likely plywood) that has begun to rot in several places and has holes from woodpeckers. I'm torn between removing the old siding entirely or siding over it. My gut tells me to get rid of the existing siding, but I don't know much about home repair. We plan to stay in the house for another 8-10 years until we retire.
