Is $30,281 to install a 16.28 kW solar panel system a fair price?

Project Details

I finally have a new aluminum roof installed with new 5/8” Decking and significantly beefed trusses, after getting damage from back-to-back hurricanes last year. I have been wanting to go solar for years. I received this quote from Energy Sage and want to ensure I'm not missing anything, as the price seems very reasonable, and I'm new to this. I will most likely pay cash and am looking for the system to meet almost all of my energy needs. I have a pretty wide open view to the sky, but there is one tree that may cause some shade on part of the system. I'm concerned if a string inverter would cause issues, as I previously thought micro inverters were better for potential shade. I'm afraid of potential issues with the string inverter due to shade. I'm glad to know others have gotten a similar price per watt. Since I am in a hurricane/flood zone and just had my roof replaced by insurance, seeing my rates double in the last few years, this may be a non-starter with my current provider. I'm not super savvy on this, so I really appreciate the information. I will ask about permit and interconnection fees, as they were not included. Apparently, the biggest hold-up around here is getting Duke Energy to turn everything on. It took so long for the new roof to get on, mainly due to permit delays from the city being overwhelmed, that I may be screwed, but even without the credit, it is still looking to be worth it.
