Is $52,000 to install an EcoFlow Ocean system with 20KWH storage and 11KW solar a fair price?
Project Details
I am looking for a gut check and opinions on the EcoFlow Ocean system. Generally speaking, I prefer open standards and equipment that does not rely on cloud services, valuing interoperability, local control, and long-term support. My perceived pros of the system include it being DC coupled, having a powerful inverter, and being easy to add additional storage or solar. However, my concerns are that it requires an expansive smart panel to replace the home's main breaker panel for no apparent reason, has AI feature bloat, and I am worried about the long-term support of its cloud services and proprietary lock-in. There's also no guarantee that V2H support will be added. I find it hard to make an informed decision based only on limited marketing material and installer information. I had previously looked at the Sigenergy system but found it impossible to find an installer.
