Is $15,000 to install new windows a fair price?

My fiancé and I are contemplating buying some new windows for our house. We are not planning to stay in our house for much longer, only another 2-3 years if all goes well. Our question is such, would making that investment now in windows make an impact on the ultimate value of house when we decide to put it on the market? The existing windows are single pane, and we are not sure how old they are, but we both think they are old.
