Is $8,000 to install plantation shutters for the whole house a fair price?

I've been looking into plantation shutters for over 16 months now. I was initially considering Sunburst Shutters but an acquaintance recommended Simply Shutters. I read mixed reviews about Simply Shutters, with many complaints about long completion times, though some customers later said it was worth the wait. I had concerns about the installation timeframe and the owner's unprofessional responses to negative reviews. I felt that attacking customers who are spending thousands of dollars is not the right approach. A higher-up from the company personally called me, and after a good conversation, I felt comfortable paying the 50% deposit. The process started around June 7th, and I'm currently three weeks in. I was told it would take 8-12 weeks for completion, with online tracking available after six weeks. Since the product is made in China, I'm not expecting the shortest timeframe, but I'm hopeful.
