Is $900 to inspect for mold in a shower a fair price?
Project Details
I've found mold in the bottom corners of my second-floor shower, where the wall meets the floor, and it's started creeping up the sides. I've already torn up the old caulking and scrubbed/sprayed with Concrobium, but I'm worried it may have gotten under the tiles or into the wall. There's also some discoloration near the top where the glass meets the ceiling. I'm trying to figure out if this is a serious mold issue or just wear-and-tear in a 25-year-old bathroom, and if there's a low-damage way to check for mold under the tile or behind the wall. The $900 quote for just an inspection feels high, especially if I end up needing to demo the floor anyway.
