Is $3,500 to mold remediation under toilet a fair price?
Project Details
I just bought this house last year. While replacing a toilet on the second floor, I discovered that the flange was incorrectly installed, leading to a rotted subfloor and significant mold growth after pulling up the old flooring. I'm concerned about what I might find in the walls below the affected area, especially since the leak appears to have been ongoing for some time. I'm mildly allergic to mold but haven't experienced significant symptoms. I'm considering using a specific mold chemical and Kilz mold and mildew primer for my own remediation efforts, which might be overkill but seems worth it.
