Is $2,000 to perform full mold remediation service a fair price?

I am going through a house remodel and just discovered a moist section of my living room wall during recent rains, coming from a leaky section of the roof. My GC took down drywall and we found moist wood with some mold. I am getting mixed opinions on the path forward. My GC says just dry the section with industrial fans for a couple of days and treat the wood using a DIY kit from Home Depot. Other mold specialists say we need to bring in mold testing first, which I imagine will only add another layer of cost. I am wondering if DIY seems sufficient or if I should go with a specialist.
