Is $3,000 to remediate mold and replace subfloor a fair price?
Project Details
We just moved into this house and are ripping up the gross carpet due to pet pee stains, planning to replace it with hardwood. I'm very concerned about air quality because we have a baby. The mold remediation company suggested their full service might be overkill, and that just replacing the subfloor with one foot past the affected area might be enough. I'm unsure how this mold happened as we are in a dry climate (Edmonton) and the house humidity is only 30%, so I suspect the carpet might have gotten repeatedly wet.
