Is $3,100 to perform bathroom tiling a fair price?
Project Details
I just had my bathroom remodeled, which included installing a new Vikrell tub and professional tiling. I took precautions to protect the tub, but the tiler removed the protective blanket and stood on the tub ledge with shoes on. He also allowed mortar to get on the tub edge and scrubbed it off, resulting in the entire ledge being scratched and scuffed. I had warned him the tub scratches easily and can only be cleaned with soap and water. Additionally, we agreed on epoxy grout, but he used Mapei Flexicolor (acrylic), claiming it was epoxy or "like epoxy." I'm now unsure how to address the tub damage, as replacement is not feasible and authorized repair is far away. I couldn't inspect the tub until the grout dried, and the payment check has not yet cleared.
