Is $2,950 to fit an ensuite bathroom a fair price?

I'm looking for advice about a bathroom fitter who started this week on Wednesday to fit an ensuite bathroom. The room was bare bones and needed shower panels fitting and tiling. He has done an awful job so far. He chipped the shower panels and didn't fit them properly, leaving a huge gap in the shower corner. The tiling is horrendous; he used spacers inconsistently, cut tile sizes differently so grout lines won't match, and some tiles are chipped or cut wonky. He also scratched the fitted shower tray by not covering it while working. I paid a £500 deposit. I'm really unhappy with the work and need to discuss how he will fix it. I'm a single woman living alone and am nervous about approaching this. The panels will need to be replaced, and much of the tiling redone, which will cost me another £1.5k for materials. I'm honestly not too picky and have never had issues with tradesmen before. The photos make it look better than it is in person. For example, at the top near the ceiling, there's an 8mm gap in the center on the left side, which he claims would be filled with silicone. An exposed backboard was where more tiles were supposed to go.
