Is $1,500 to demo an existing porch a fair price?

I am not sure if I should demo this porch or if I should replace the subframe, flooring, and railing of the deck. The railings need to be replaced as they are falling apart, but the pergola/roof are standing strong still even though they are not visually appealing. This property is also going to be a rental in Texas. I am tempted to rip it out and put some pavers and an awning of some sort. The existing porch/deck is about 14-20 years old and approximately 183 sq ft, so parts of it are definitely falling apart.
