I am a homeowner and don't know much about decks. My existing wood deck is about 12'x15.5' and is on the second story. It needs to be replaced, and I am leaning towards composite for ease of maintenance, as my family is busy. I am trying to get a second opinion/quote from another company. I am hesitant to believe the frame doesn't need replacement due to cracking in the stilts. My gut feeling is that if I'm spending money on composite, which is supposed to last a long time, it might be better to replace the entire structure for uniformity and longevity.
