Is $1,200 to repaint a deck a fair price?
Project Details
The previous owner painted the deck, which I consider a poor decision. My main goal is to extend the life of the deck for as little money as possible, as it's low on my priority list for house changes. I'm considering doing the work myself, but I'm busy and not good at projects. I'm concerned about how long a repaint will last, especially given the rainy climate in the PNW, and if the wood will get destroyed if I don't maintain it. I'm trying to decide if it's worth hiring someone or if I should just do the minimum myself until the deck needs full replacement, at which point I'd consider staining or composite.
