Is $3,500 to pour concrete to level ground under deck a fair price?
Project Details
Our soil is ridiculously hard clay, and after the deck footings were dug, the ground is very uneven. It's so hard it's like concrete, and I can't break it up with a shovel or pitchfork. I was hoping to put down landscape fabric and rocks, but I can't do that until it's leveled. I'm considering renting a Honda FRC 800 rear tine tiller from Home Depot to try and level it myself, as the concrete quotes are more than I want to spend for a space we don't use much. My husband is helping me, but I'm trying to figure out the best solution for this space.
