




Is $1,900 to build a deck a fair price?

I thought the $1900 quote was "robbery" and ended up hiring someone else who had no idea what they were doing. I'm sure they only spent around $300 in total.

The total cost includes: - Show-up fee: $200 (covers car and liability insurance, equipment storage, van loading, and travel to site)- Material list preparation: $200- Day rate for labor: $1500 (includes contractor's time, equipment, van, tools, planning, design, warranty, and communication)- Customer is responsible for purchasing all materials.The contractor has 10 years of finish carpentry experience. The design ensures a 3-foot clearing in front of the meter.
