Is $5,500 to install a deer fence a fair price?
Project Details
I have about 650 feet of property on a slope where I need deer and rabbit fencing. I've been told it needs to be 7-8 feet high to keep deer out due to the slope. I'm comparing bids, specifically one at $5.5k that uses 3 strands above the wire fencing, which seems to be a cost-saving measure compared to other bids around $10k that use 1 or 2 strands. I'm not too concerned about rabbits as most of my property is orchard and we don't seem to have a lot of rabbits. I'm trying to understand if the 3-strand option will be sufficient, especially with deer jumping downhill. I'm also clarifying details about the posts and corner posts, preferring metal structural posts over wooden ones with H braces.
