Is $7,000 to install low grade lvp flooring a fair price?

I accidentally cut a small hole (less than .25 inches) in my carpet with a box cutter. I am looking to get the carpets steam cleaned but am worried about water seeping into the padding through the cut. I considered replacing the carpet with LVP but the cost was too high for my current budget.
