Is $6,000 to refinish 1000 sq ft of red oak floors, treads, and shoe molding a fair price?

My 20-year-old pre-finished red oak floors had an orange-y finish, faded, and sun-damaged areas. I wanted to refinish them to remove the damage and achieve a more natural color. I don't think the result is very good. The original planks had ~1/8" deep grooves, but the refinishers sanded unevenly, making some grooves very noticeable and eliminating others completely. Wood filler from carpet tack holes got into the grooves, creating patchy areas. The treads, which don't have grooves, look different. The Bona Natural Seal finish ranges from the expected pink hue to yellow/almost green on some planks. I'm wondering if I should ask them to remedy this and what the best remedy would be.
