Is $6,000 to install red oak hardwood flooring (labor only) a fair price?
Project Details
I would purchase the real hardwood myself. I told the contractor I won't pay for any other materials in case something comes up (sanding pad, brushes, rollers, etc.). I will likely install the quarter round trim myself, which I will need to purchase and paint. The rest of the house already has quarter round trim. Ideally I would remove the baseboards and then reinstall but it won't match the rest of the house. He did trim work for me in the past and I didn't think it was that great so I'd rather do it myself anyway. I've done LVP before, which wasn't bad, but I have no experience doing hardwood and not sure I have the time for it.
