Is $2,990 to install carpet in 3 bedrooms and 2 closets a fair price?

I received an estimate for carpet for 3 bedrooms and 2 closets, which is about 65 sqyd. I had another quote that was quite a bit higher for a nicer carpet. The estimate is for 79.5 sqyd, which seems like a lot of overage compared to the actual 65 sqyd. I'm concerned about the 22% waste. I'm curious if I should accept the estimate or ask about the discrepancy.
