Is $16,900 to install CP Laminate Waterproof Bundle (Black HD Bold Oak Laminate) a fair price?
Project Details
I hired a contractor to demo the existing tile and then install LVP flooring for a house I just bought. The total cost was $37K. After he finished the demolition of the tile, he says that the floor is not level and will cost an extra $1,900 in materials; he won't charge for labor. I'm already paying close to $12/sqft for the whole job and I feel like this should have been expected and included. I believe he wants to level the entire house. I'm not sure if this is worse than typical or if I should hire a new contractor, as I'm concerned he might keep charging extra for things that should have been included. The area with the carpet specifically needs to be leveled, and there's a large drop in the corner. The rest of the house was tile except for that room.
