Is $20,000 to install Appalachian engineered hardwood flooring a fair price?
Project Details
I recently bought a fixer-upper and plan to replace the existing carpet throughout the entire home with engineered hardwood. I'm currently getting quotes but realizing I'm going overbudget on my renovation plans, especially with recent layoffs in my field. My current quotes for nicer floors are significantly higher than estimates from places like Home Depot. This isn't our forever home, and I expect to live here for about 5 years. I'm concerned about the return on investment if I choose the most expensive floors, but I also don't want floors that feel cheap or tacky.
