I have a new build home with 1700 sqft of hardwood. I already have the unfinished oak and will be installing it myself. I have been planning on finishing it myself as I try to save money and like to learn new trades, but not having to deal with it sounds mighty fine. I try to convince myself to farm it out and the unexpected high cost of doing it myself is helping. I'm asking if the $6,000 quote is a fair estimate compared to my estimated DIY cost of $2,100.
